PingMe Talk — Privacy Policy

PingMe Talk is a walkie-talkie app made by CJ Designs. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what happens to it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a voice channel service, your voice is never recorded, and we don't sell or share your data with anyone.

Your voice is not recorded. Audio is streamed live to the members of your channel over an encrypted connection and is never stored on our servers or anywhere else. When you release the talk button, it's gone.

What we collect

Account details — your email address, a display name you choose, and a password (stored only as a secure cryptographic hash; we cannot read it).
Channel data — the names of channels you create or join, their membership, and invite codes.
Basic technical logs — our server keeps short-lived operational logs (such as connection errors) to keep the service running reliably. These are not used to profile you.

What we don't collect

No recordings of your voice or conversations.
No location data, contacts, photos, or files.
No advertising identifiers, no ads, no third-party analytics or trackers.

How your data is used

Your email and password are used solely to sign you in. Your display name is shown to other members of your channels so they know who is talking. Channel data exists so your channels work. That's the whole list — we do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising or marketing.

Where it's stored and how it's protected

Account and channel data are stored on our server in the United Kingdom. All communication between the app and the server — including live voice — travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/WSS). If you enable Remember me, your login details are stored only on your own device, protected by your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore), and are never sent anywhere except to our server to sign you in.

Permissions the app asks for

Microphone — required to transmit your voice while you hold the talk button. The microphone is only active while you are transmitting.
Face ID / biometrics — optional, used only to unlock login on your own device. Biometric data never leaves your device and is never seen by us.

Data retention and deletion

Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists. To delete your account and all associated data, email support@cjdesigns.app from your registered email address and we will remove it.

Children

PingMe Talk is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
