Easy Photo Manager — Privacy Policy

Effective 2 October 2026

Easy Photo Manager, made by CJ Designs, is a photo and video library manager for the Mac — duplicate and similar-photo detection, non-destructive editing, albums, and export, all running locally. There is no account, no sign-in, and no server belonging to us that ever receives your photos, videos, or library information.

The short version: your photos and videos never leave your Mac.

Easy Photo Manager has no network-client entitlement at all, so macOS itself refuses any outgoing connection even if the app attempted one — this is enforced by the operating system, not just a promise in this document. The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking, crash reporting, or other third-party services.

Your photos and videos stay exactly where they already are, or where you choose to copy them, on your own Mac — unless you deliberately export a copy or save a backup somewhere else yourself.

What Easy Photo Manager does with your photos and videos

When you import, you choose how each photo or video is handled:

Either way, the file you imported from is never moved, renamed, or modified by importing it.

What Easy Photo Manager records about your library — albums, star ratings, favourites, keywords, titles, captions, non-destructive edit recipes, and where each file lives — is kept in a single catalogue file inside the app's own private storage on your Mac. None of it is transmitted anywhere.

What Easy Photo Manager does not collect

GPS coordinates embedded in a photo's own metadata are read and stored in the catalogue only if present in the file, and are shown exactly as recorded — Easy Photo Manager never looks them up or geocodes them, because it has no network access to do so.

Editing your originals

Editing in Easy Photo Manager is non-destructive: an edit is saved as a set of adjustments in the catalogue, and the edited version you see is rendered from your unmodified original each time. The original file on disk is never altered by editing, rotating, or using Auto Enhance.

Exporting and backing up

Exporting a photo, video, or album writes a copy only to the destination folder you choose — nothing is sent anywhere else. You also control whether metadata such as GPS location is kept in an exported copy or removed.

A note on catalogue backups

Easy Photo Manager can create a local backup of your catalogue — your albums, ratings, keywords, titles, captions, and edit history. A backup file does not contain your photographs or videos themselves; those stay where they already are.

A backup file is not encrypted. Because it holds everything your catalogue holds, it can include filenames, folder paths, captions, keywords, and GPS coordinates for any photo whose metadata was preserved at import. Backup and restore are entirely local — a backup is never uploaded anywhere by this app — but it is your responsibility to store the file somewhere you trust, exactly as with any other unencrypted file on your Mac.

Third parties

None. Easy Photo Manager contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting services, and sends nothing to us or to anyone else. There are no in-app purchases and no accounts of any kind.

Permissions

Easy Photo Manager asks for access only to the specific folders and drives you choose, through the system's own file picker. The exact permission text macOS shows you is:

"Easy Photo Manager needs access to the folders and drives you choose so it can import, organise and edit your photographs and videos. It never accesses your Photos library directly."

That describes the Photos permission prompt precisely: Easy Photo Manager never calls into your Photos library at all. The prompt can still appear if a folder you choose happens to overlap with where Photos stores its own library on disk (for example, inside your Pictures folder) — that is macOS's own behaviour for any app reading that location, not something Easy Photo Manager requests separately.

If you choose a folder inside Desktop, Documents, or Downloads, macOS shows one of these, matched to the location:

"Easy Photo Manager needs access to your [Desktop/Documents/Downloads] folder to import the photographs and videos you choose to manage from there."

Easy Photo Manager does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or location access.

Data deletion

Easy Photo Manager has no account; there is nothing to delete beyond what is stored on your own Mac. Removing the app's data deletes the catalogue and any photos or videos you chose to import as managed copies. It never touches your original files for anything you imported by reference, since Easy Photo Manager was never given — and never takes — the ability to move or delete those.

Children's privacy

Easy Photo Manager does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from anyone at all.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
