Mailisimo — Support

Mailisimo connects to the email accounts you already have and keeps your mail between you and your provider — there's no Mailisimo server in the middle. Answers to common questions are below, and we're always happy to help by email.

Setting up email

How do I add an account?

Tap Add account — on the Home screen when you have none yet, or in Settings › Accounts at any time — and pick how you sign in:

After an account is added, Mailisimo fetches your recent mail automatically. Pull down on a list to check again at any time.

Which email providers are supported?

Mail isn't appearing — what should I check?

Contacts

Why can't I edit a contact in Mailisimo?

Contacts in the Contacts tab are imported from your phone's address book and are not editable inside Mailisimo. To change a name, number or other detail, edit the contact in your phone's own Contacts app, then re-import from the Contacts tab in Mailisimo to bring the update in.

Does Mailisimo read my contacts automatically?

No. Your device's address book is only read if you explicitly choose to import it from the Contacts tab, and the permission prompt appears only at that moment. You can remove everything the import added at any time, without affecting the People built automatically from your mail.

Privacy and security

Is my mail stored securely?

Yes. Mailisimo's local database is encrypted at rest (SQLCipher, AES-256), with the encryption key held only in your device's Keychain or Keystore. Your sign-in credentials and tokens are stored the same way, and never leave your device.

Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Why are images blocked in some messages?

Remote images — including invisible tracking pixels some senders use to tell when a message was opened — are blocked by default. Tap the notice on a message to load images just for that one, or always for that sender.

How do I remove an account, and what happens to its data?

Settings › Accounts › remove. This deletes every message, attachment, contact and reminder stored for that account on your device, and its saved credential, and attempts to revoke the sign-in token with your provider.

Other questions

Which platforms does Mailisimo work on?

iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android.

Does Mailisimo send my mail anywhere else?

No. Sending a message goes to your own provider's outgoing (SMTP) server and nowhere else — there is no Mailisimo server in that path.

Still stuck after checking the above?

Get in touch — it helps to mention which email provider (Gmail, Outlook, iCloud, Yahoo, or other), and whether the issue is on iPhone, Mac or Android.
